2022-now: Research and Development Engineer at Ellistat

I'm currently working at Ellistat in Annecy. I love it here, we work on innovative and advanced tech. Ellistat is a software and consulting company. I work in the software department where we develop a software that closes the loop in quality control in production systems by integrating statistics, linear and non-linear optimization algorithms, machine learning.

My role in the company is pushing the boundaries of the software and discovering new technologies to add to our arsenal. I am currently working on the CAD aspect of the software, as well as being the statistical and technical interface with our clients.

2018-2022: PhD in Modelling and Simulation of Production Systems

After my introduction to research, I was interested in starting a PhD where I could combine my engineering knowledge and my passion for software development, so I decided to follow a PhD in modelling and simulation of production systems. The goal was to study the behavior of operators in different production systems depending on multiple factors such as fatigue or experience called human factors and depending on productivity. I developed a new metric to study both these aspects called Non-Productive Times (NPT) as well as a methodology, a model and a simulation tool to simulate existing or in-design production systems . This allowed me to model the existing production systems of our clients and to compare real-life data with the simulation results.

This PhD was by far my most difficult task to date, it took me 3.5 years to finish and I learned the importance of perseverance and hard work during this period.

2017-2018: Arts et Métiers ParisTech Double-degree

Knowing how much of an opportunity this was, I studied hard to finish amongst the top of my class. During this year, I learned a lot about the fourth industrial revolution, the use of technology in the industry and the introduction of new tech like machine learning, big data and IoT. I was also introduced to research & development, which was completely new to me. During these studies, I had the opportunity to attend ATHENS Program, a 1-weekexchange session by a network of European higher education institutions. I chose a course on industrial management at Mines ParisTech. It was a rich experience where leaders and executive officers from big companies like Ferrero and Auchan shared their experience with us.

2013-2017: ENSAM Engineering School

During my years at ENSAM engineering school I learned the fundamentals of engineering while strengthening my mathematics and physics knowledge. This is where my passion for software development started, where I dabbled in C# and C++.

On my 4th year, me and the 30 first other students out of 350 were offered an opportunity to finish our engineering curriculum with a double-degree at Arts et Métiers ParisTech. For me, this was the opportunity of a lifetime to explore the international engineering community and broaden my knowledge. I took it immediately!

2012-2013: Baccalaureate graduation

Coming from humble origins in the small city of Khouribga, my career started when I joined one of the most prestigious engineering schools in Morocco after I graduated from High School.
